Promoting LNG Innovation and Cooperation to Build a Better Future of Clean Energy – International seminar on Liquefied Natural Gas (I)

On April 2nd, the 19th International Liquefied Natural Gas Seminar (LNG2019) opened in Shanghai. This is the only industry seminar that covers the whole LNG industry chain in the world and is held in China for the first time. It attracted more than 10,000 representatives from more than 500 enterprises and institutions around the world.

Zhang Jianhua, Head of the State Energy Bureau, Yang Hua, Chairman of CNOOC, Wang Yilin, Chairman of China Petro, and CEO of Chevron, Mike K. Wirth, and other leaders from domestic and foreign oil and gas industries jointly discussed the positive role of natural gas in the process of global energy transformation, and presented new characteristics, opportunities and Industry Development to LNG market. Insightful insights for the challenges are presented.

The meeting focused on the theme of ” LNG for Sustainable Development of Energy in future”, aiming at jointly discussing how to meet the growing demand for clean energy in the world.

Zhang Jianhua, Head of the State Energy Bureau, said in his speech at the opening ceremony that natural gas will play an important role in the global energy transformation. It promotes energy transformation and sustainable development, effectively prevent and control atmospheric pollution and respond to climate change, which is an important issue concerning world energy. Promoting the production and consumption of natural gas and promoting the growth and development of LNG industry is one of the solutions to this topic.
